Official Coxhoe United Website

Welcome to Coxhoe United FC

Once again on Boxing Day a group of nutters from Coxhoe United took to the freezing North Sea in the annual Boxing Day Dip. Special mention must go to Macauley Smith who became the first United player to brave the winter conditions alongside a group of parents who really should know better! Thanks to you all who sponsored the dippers. Part of the money raised will go to Coxhoe United and part will go to the Lions Club who support numerous charities.

It was the 33rd Annual dip organised by the Lions Club of Sunderland. In the previous Boxing Day dip around £60,000 was raised by the 854 dippers. The Lions Club is the world's largest service club organisation with a membership of 1.4 million people worldwide. They are dedicated to selfless effective community service and their principle aim is to help those in need.

The Christmas Parties are being held on 27th December. The under 8s, 9s & 10s party will be from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
The under 11s, 12s and the girls teams will be from 7:00pm to 10:30pm.

A fantastic night of entertainment has been arranged at Coxhoe WMC on Saturday 28 April at 7:30 pm featuring one of the best, if not THE BEST groups in the North East of England.

Last Autumn the club held a very successful Race night with all the races sponsored by local companies and all of the 64 horses sponsored by companies and individuals. Our friend, James from the Hi-Lights Disco did a wonderful job selling the Auction races. If you want a terrific evenings entertainment mark Sat 24th November in your diary when we hold our second race night.

As the Boxing Day temperature soared to a quite incredible 2 degrees above freezing point, a group of hardy parents cooled off in the North Sea at the exotic resort of Seaburn.

Club Secretary Lisa Smith "The Legends"

A fantastic evening was had at Coxhoe W.M.C. when ex England internationals Malcolm McDonald & Eric Gates were guest speakers at the first Coxhoe United Sports Evening. Amongst other topics Malcolm described his incredible 5 goal haul against Cyprus as if it were yesterday whilst Eric gave an fascinating glimpse of what it is like for an ordinary North East lad to make the big time and go on to play against the likes of George Best and Diago Maradonna.

Eric kindly offered to run the auction which was a massive success.

A big thank you to our friend Jimmy from the superb Highlights Disco who gave his services free of charge for the evening.

Steve and Donna with Malcolm & Eric proudly show their autographed Alan Shearer boot which was one of the superb items to go under the hammer at the Sports Evening.

The event raised £1,500 for the club, so a huge thank you to these football legends for making the evening such a success. For more information about them and Bernie Slaven click on the 3 Legends banner below.

The Coxhoe fun day was a terrific success for both the village and the club. Our friend Jimmy (Highlights Disco) was compere for the day and kept the days events flowing along nicely.

Coxhoe United played a demonstration game between two teams drawn from the Under 9s and Under 10s, which, despite the heat was an end to end thriller with the final score being 2-0 to the yellows. The scorer of both goals was Ryan Mansfield from the Under 10s. Ryan is part of the team that is going to move up to eleven a side in the new season and with his lightning pace and terrific throw-ins he’ll benefit greatly on playing on the larger pitches and promises to be a thorn in the side of opposition defences.

Other United activities for the day included Penalty Shoot Outs, and a parents Cross-Bar Challenge.

The winners were:

8 & under penalties - James Puller,

9s&10s penalties - David Atkinson,

11s 12s, 13s penalties - Daniel Dodswoth,

Parents cross-bar challenge - Tom Arnold.

Apart from everyone having such a fun time in the scorching sunshine United raised over £500 for the club funds. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed in making the day such an enormous success.

Glamourous Gran, Jean Cowans has won £41 in the first ever Coxhoe UFC lottery. Well done Jean it couldn't have gone to a nicer lass.

Make sure you let all your friends, family and workmates know about the Coxhoe UFC Lottery so next week's jackpot will be even bigger.

Coxhoe United Lottery

We have now received permission from Durham City Council to start our own Lottery to raise money for Coxhoe United. We are planning to start this at the beginning of May after the Blackpool tournaments. All you have to do is choose 3 letters from the alphabet. The cost is £1 per week (half goes to the club, and half to the winning pot) for each line you choose & you can have as many lines as you want. Click on the button below to find out more details and get your letters to Brian as soon as possible (by email or next time you see him) so he can start setting up the spreadsheet. Make sure you get the payment to him before the first draw or your line won't be valid in the draw. Draws will be made during training on Thursday nights.
This Lottery is open to everyone over 16, so tell your friends, family and neighbours. The more people that enter means a bigger winners pot and more money to the club.
